In a heartwarming display of admiration and love, renowned gospel singer Tope Alabi found herself overwhelmed with emotion as her fans serenaded her with her own songs during a recent event.
The touching moment was captured in a video shared by the 53-year-old artist on her official Instagram page on December 2nd, 2023.
Tope Alabi, seated beside her husband of 23 years, Olusoji Alabi, attended the event at the invitation of fellow gospel singer Bidemi Aloba. The event, titled "In His Presence," took place on December 1st, 2023, in Maryland, Lagos.
As Tope Alabi took her place at the front, the audience, in a spontaneous and heartwarming gesture, began singing her songs. Initially, the gospel singer responded with smiles, clearly moved by the unexpected tribute. However, the atmosphere quickly turned emotional as the crowd continued to sing, with Tope Alabi eventually breaking into tears of joy.
The video captures a genuine and poignant moment, showcasing the profound impact Tope Alabi has had on her audience. With a musical career spanning over two decades and numerous albums, Tope Alabi's contribution to the Nigerian music industry is undeniable. Her breakout hit, "Ore ti o common," in 2021 catapulted her to widespread recognition, and she has also made significant contributions as a composer for over 350 soundtracks in Nollywood film productions.
Sharing the video, Tope Alabi wrote; “This really messed me up😥. It was an emotional moment for me at the just concluded IN HIS PRESENCE programme organized by @bidemiolaoba. This is nothing short of God’s grace, and I do not take it for granted. Thank you, Jesus!!!”
