Stop downplaying women’s achievements because of marriage – BBNaija’s Uriel warns

Uriel Oputa, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, has issued a warning to those who belittle women's achievements solely because they are not married, urging them to cease such judgments.

Expressing her concern, she highlighted the prevailing societal belief in Nigeria that a woman's accomplishments are diminished if she remains unmarried.

The 35-year-old singer emphasized the flawed nature of this notion, emphasizing that some women consciously choose to remain unmarried and that their personal choices should be respected.

Uriel Oputa encouraged a more inclusive and understanding perspective that acknowledges and values women's achievements irrespective of their marital status.

On her Instastory, Uriel wrote: “In Nigeria, if you like be a billionaire, have the most successful business, be the most famous, you haven’t accomplished anything unless you are married.

“Very useless mindset. Some women actually don’t want to get married. Stop downplaying women’s achievements because of marriage.”
