The 2024 MOBO Awards has nominated several Nigerian artists for the Best African Music Act category. The nominees include Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, Rema, Ayra Starr, and Adekunle Gold. Also, South African duo Tyla and Uncle Waffles, as well as Cameroon's Libianca, are in contention.
Interestingly, this year marks the first time since 2017 that no Nigerian artist has been nominated in the Best International Act category. Nominees in this category include global stars like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Sexxy Red, Ice Spice, Doja Cat, Latto, and SZA.
In other categories, Nigerian gospel singer Limoblaze secured a nomination in the Best Gospel Act category, competing against artists like Annatoria, Guvna B, Triple O, and others. Additionally, Nigerian producer P2J received a nomination in the Best Producer category, where he will contend with Steel Banglez, Kyle Evans, M1onTheBeat, and more.
The 2024 MOBO Awards is scheduled to take place on February 7, 2024, at Utilita Arena Sheffield in Sheffield, United Kingdom.
