Wizkid is eyeing a career in Nollywood

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, recently announced his intention to take a break from music and unveiled his plans to venture into acting.

The Starboy boss shared on his Instagram story that he aspires to become an actor, expressing his desire to engage in on-screen activities like kissing scenes and handling guns in movies.

In Pidgin, Wizkid wrote, "Shebi I tell una I one dey act film!…I just want dey kiss and shoot a gun for a movie. Daz all!!" His revelation coincided with his recent appearance alongside prolific Nollywood filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, sparking speculation about potential collaborations.

Additionally, Wizkid hinted at the possibility of extending his break from music. Initially indicating a hiatus of three or four years, he later posted on his Instagram story, "Loving every bit of this holiday. Might extend to six years."

This revelation suggests that Wizkid is taking an extended break to explore other interests and perhaps focus on his newfound interest in acting.
