Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner, widely recognized as Zoro Swagbag, has taken issue with Grammy-winning sensation Wizkid's controversial statement regarding the state of rap. Wizkid's comment, which he later clarified was not aimed at Nigerian rappers, has drawn criticism from Zoro Swagbag, who insists that the issue extends beyond borders.

Speaking during a recent interview on Cool FM Nigeria, Lagos, with reality star Tacha, the 'Ogene' hitmaker expressed his disapproval of Wizkid's perspective, deeming it to be poorly articulated.

Tacha asked: “What’s your opinion on what Wizkid said about rap being dead? Do you personally think that rap is dead?”

Zoro responded: “I do not think so. But I kind of like the idea of what he was trying to say. The way he said it was wrong.

“He said we quoted him out of context that he wasn’t talking about Nigerian rappers. But I mean, if you’re talking about rappers, rappers are the same everywhere.

“Of course, rap is not dead. It’s just that we took too long to be able to start making rap as enjoyable as we are making it right now. As the likes of Odumodublvck is doing and Falz has already been doing.”
