The Lagos Coroner Court has provided an update on the autopsy process to determine the cause of the late singer Mohbad's death, revealing that the crucial internal examination is currently underway in the United States of America (USA).
During a session on Wednesday, O. Akinde, the state counsel, informed Coroner Magistrate Adetayo Shotobi that the autopsy on the external body of the deceased has been completed.
This revelation followed concerns raised by legal representatives, including David Fadimu (counsel to Mohbad's father), David Nawoola of TNKay Music Worldwide, and O.S.A. Aranmolaran, a representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu.

Akinde clarified, "The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US."
Mohbad passed away under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day in Ikorodu, Lagos State. In response to public outcry, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun ordered a forensic investigation, prompting Lagos State Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa to establish a 10-man team, including a pathologist, to exhume the singer's corpse and investigate the circumstances of his death.
