Actress Wumi Toriola declares her stance on polygamy, says she doesn't mind becoming a second wife

In a recent interview with media personality Debbie Shokoya, Nigerian actress Wumi Toriola revealed that she is open to becoming a second wife.

The single mother of one expressed her willingness to embrace the role of a second wife, stating that she would "gladly become a second wife because I’m after one now."

Toriola, who has been single for a while, shared her perspective on relationships and marriage in the interview. Her openness about considering the position of a second wife reflects a shift in societal attitudes towards non-traditional family structures.

This statement from the actress has sparked conversations about modern relationship dynamics and individual preferences in matters of the heart.

She said, “I used to have the mindset that I can’t be a second or third wife but that has changed because I’m after-one now.

“If I see an after-one like me too or a widower, I will marry him. What matters is my happiness.”

According to her, many men hesitate to approach female celebrities under the assumption that these women exclusively seek wealthy partners, but she clarified that this is not the case for all of them.

Toriola emphasized that contrary to popular belief attributing their luxurious lifestyles to relationships with affluent individuals, most actresses have earned their wealth through their professional endeavors.

It's noteworthy that Wunmi Toriola tied the knot in 2018 and became a mother the following year. However, in 2023, she publicly disclosed on her Instagram page that her four-year marriage had come to an end.
