The announcement of the nominees for the 66th Grammy Awards has led to new records being set by Nigerian musicians Burna Boy, Olamide, and Ayra Starr.

Burna Boy, with four nominations at the 66th Grammys, becomes the Nigerian artist with the most nominations in the history of the awards, totaling 10 nominations.

He also achieves the distinction of being the first Nigerian artist to earn a Grammy nomination in five consecutive years (2019-2023). His song 'Sittin’ On Top of The World' makes history as the first African song to be nominated in the Rap category, specifically in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category.

Olamide creates history as the first Nigerian rapper to receive a Grammy nomination. His collaborative song with Asake, 'Amapiano,' is nominated in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category.

Ayra Starr, at the age of 21, becomes the youngest Nigerian to earn a Grammy nomination. Her hit song 'Rush' is nominated in the same category, Best African Music Performance, at the 66th Grammys.

These accomplishments mark significant milestones for Nigerian artists and underscore their growing impact on the global music stage.
