Dayo Adeneye, the veteran music executive known as D1, has expressed his belief that it has become challenging for artists to create conscious music due to the prevailing moral decline in the current generation.
In the latest episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, D1 asserted that producing conscious music is unlikely to achieve commercial success in today's world.
He said, “Right now, the world is not ready to listen to anything conscious. Is it this generation that doesn’t know their gender that you want to preach conscious lyrics to?
“Today, someone with beards would tell you, ‘I’m Linda’. Is it that kind of person you want to preach conscious lyrics to?”

D1 also highlighted that many women in this era tend to be materialistic.
He mentioned that a significant number of women today primarily offer their physical attributes in relationships, which, in turn, leads men to perceive them solely in terms of their sexual value and not much else.
