Singer Skales expresses fear over threats for calling EFCC out

The renowned musician, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, better known as Skales, has disclosed that he and his family are now living in constant fear following a recent intrusion into his residence by operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Skales had previously criticized the EFCC for wrongfully accusing him of being involved in fraudulent activities during their unannounced visit to his home.

During his recent appearance on the Terms & Conditions podcast, Skales revealed that he has been receiving threats ever since he publicly expressed his grievances against the anti-graft agency. He emphasized that he no longer feels safe. Despite this, he continues to move freely because he believes in his innocence. Skales also mentioned that one of his artists, who was apprehended during the EFCC's raid, remains in custody.

He said, “The EFCC operatives that invaded my house didn’t have a search warrant. Obviously, they were illegal.

“My problem with the EFCC guys is not even the fact that they are not doing what they were paid for.

“They are now using the power to oppress people. They are oppressing me right now. I am scared for my life, I won’t lie to you. I’m scared but at the same time, I know I’m clean, that’s why I’m moving around.”
