Mr Ibu: Ex-senate President Saraki pays off Nollywood actor, Mr Ibu's medical bill

Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the former president of the Nigerian Senate, has generously covered all the medical expenses for the renowned ailing actor, Mr. John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu.

Saraki, a former governor of Kwara State, accomplished this through his foundation, the 'Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation.' After Mr. Ibu had made a public appeal for assistance this week, expressing his desire to avoid having his legs amputated due to an undisclosed ailment, the foundation promptly responded on Friday, coming to his aid by settling his medical bills.

Disclosing this on social media, the foundation wrote: “The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation is honoured to have extended support to Mr John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, a renowned comedic icon who has graced our screens and brought joy and laughter to countless homes over the past four decades.

“When we learned of his recent health challenges and the financial burdens associated with his medical treatment, we felt a deep sense of responsibility to assist in any way we could. We promptly paid off his entire medical expenses as of Wednesday.

“We encourage everyone who can come forward and assist in any capacity, whether through financial contributions, moral support, or prayers. “We wish him a swift and complete recovery.”

It's worth noting that Nigerian music stars and celebrities, including Davido, P-Square, and Tunde Ednut, had previously pledged to cover Mr. Ibu's medical expenses. 

In response to his health crisis, people from all over the world, particularly Nigerians, had started donating money to provide support for the ailing actor.
