Mohbad's mother opens up on threat to her life, reveals that son protects her from Naira Marley and Sam Larry

Abosede, the mother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, who was widely recognized as Mohbad, testified on Wednesday during the Coroner's Inquest. She disclosed that her son had been protecting her from potential harm by his former label boss, Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and his associate, Sam Larry.

She further explained that Naira Marley had persistently harassed Mohbad, causing the singer to live in constant fear.

“He always mentioned Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, and he was always shaking. I begged him several times to allow me to speak with them, but he refused, saying he didn’t want them to kill me.

“The last time he travelled for a show, after he came back, he mentioned to me that Naira Marley came to attack him, he reported the case to the police but I don’t know if the police invited Naira Marley,” Abosede said.

Mohbad died under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023.
