During a coroner's inquest into the death of his son, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, Mr. Joseph Aloba revealed that his late son had been living with the musician Azeez Fashola, commonly known as Naira Marley, since December 2019. The inquest was initiated following the controversial death of the musician, who passed away at the age of 27 and was laid to rest the next day.
The inquest, which commenced on October 13, is being conducted at the Ikorodu Magistrate's Court in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Mr. Joseph Aloba testified before Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi that he had lived with his son for 18 years. However, he was unaware of the exact residence where his late son had resided with Naira Marley. He explained that his son left home when he reached the age of consent to assist Marley while pursuing his own career in music.
According to Mr. Aloba, he last saw his son three days before his death and had only seen a picture of his son's casket. He stated that his son had assured him that he could manage his dispute with Marley.
Mr. Aloba mentioned that his late son's property was in the custody of his mother-in-law and noted that the deceased had informed him about his possessions held by his wife and her family. Additionally, he claimed that Mohbad's wife had introduced sleeping pills into his food during their time living with Marley.
