Davido Responds to AY's Apology Over Insensitive Joke

Afrobeat sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to comedian AY's public apology for an insensitive joke. AY had made disparaging remarks about Davido's relationships during a recent stage performance in Warri, insinuating that the singer had impregnated multiple women with his "small manhood" while AY himself had been trying for over 13 years with his "larger one."

This joke sparked outrage among netizens, who criticized the comedian for publicly disrespecting a fellow entertainer. Davido, however, responded to AY's apology with the phrase "Nothing spoil," indicating that he had accepted the apology and was not harboring any ill feelings.

Following the backlash, AY, in an Instagram post, apologised to the singer, attributing the misunderstanding to how his words were misconstrued by blogs.

He wrote: “I am very sorry for the way that joke came out in Warri. You have every right to be angry after seeing how it was used by blogs. Please understand that we are all constantly learning in the entertainment business. I deserve any backlash coming my way for the poorly delivered joke in Warri. So, no excuses at all, my Aburo. No reason for them. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido.”

Reacting to the apology, Davido took to the comedian’s comments section to assure him not to worry.

He wrote: “Nothing spoil baba mi.”
