Just like a bride and groom that celebrated their wedding couple of months ago, gave the family and friends shocks few months down the line filing for divorce. Yes, shocking; this is the case with Nigerian and Super Eagles Striker Victor Osimhen and his current club, Napoli.
Victor has issued a legal threat against Napoli following the posting of a TikTok video on Tuesday. The video in question appeared to ridicule Osimhen for his missed penalty during their recent 0-0 draw against Bologna in Serie A.
Osimhen's missed penalty was a pivotal moment in the match and an unusual occurrence for the Nigerian striker, who has already netted three goals in his first five matches of the season.
The TikTok video sparked significant backlash on social media, leading Napoli to remove it from their platform.
Osimhen's agent, Roberto Calenda, has hinted at the possibility of legal action being pursued by Osimhen against his own club, Napoli, in response to the incident.
“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted.
“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news. We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor,” Calenda said.
