Super Eagles Dominate Sao Tome with Osimhen's Hat-Trick in AFCON Qualifier

 

Nigeria dominated the match from the start, with Victor Osimhen opening the scoring in the 22nd minute. The Super Eagles continued to pile on the pressure and added to their lead through goals from Henry Onyekuru and Chidera Ejuke before halftime.

In the second half, Nigeria continued their attacking display, with Paul Onuachu scoring a brace and Samuel Kalu adding another goal to complete the 6-0 victory. The win ensured that Nigeria finished their qualifying campaign with a perfect record, winning all six of their matches and scoring a total of 23 goals.

The Super Eagles will now shift their focus to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which will take place in Cameroon next year. Nigeria will be aiming to win their fourth continental title and will be considered one of the favorites to lift the trophy.

The team's impressive performance in the qualifying series will give them confidence heading into the tournament, as they have shown their attacking prowess and ability to dominate matches. With a talented squad and experienced coach in Gernot Rohr, Nigeria will be a team to watch out for in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria had a strong performance in their match, going into halftime with a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman. 

In the second half, Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi continued the scoring before Osimhen completed his hat-trick. 

Samuel Chukwueze added a late goal to secure the victory for Nigeria. 

With this win, Nigeria will finish at the top of Group A with a total of 15 points.
