The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has issued a warning to bloggers, celebrities, and others not to interfere with the investigation into the death of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad. The warning was conveyed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Adejobi made the announcement via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday. He cautioned celebrities and bloggers against using Mohbad's death for self-promotion or to gain followers. He emphasized that those who make affirmative comments about the case might be called upon to testify in the investigation.
He stated, "I have warned the so-called bloggers and celebs to allow us to do our work. They should not use Mohbad's death to cruise or mobilize followers. They need to wait for the outcome of the investigation. Anyone who makes comments (affirmatively) on the issue might be invited by the police or any security agency to corroborate or testify in the case. You'd better be careful and allow the law to take its course. The law is wide and complex and could, at the same time, be flexible. Be warned."
In addition, the Lagos State Police Command has refuted reports claiming that Mohbad's body was returned to the grave after an autopsy. The Command's Public Relations Officer clarified that the singer's remains have been deposited at the mortuary.
