Mohbad: Bella Shmurda cancels Canada tour

Nigerian singer Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, known as Bella Shmurda, has decided to cancel his upcoming Canada tour in light of the recent and controversial death of his close friend and frequent collaborator, Mohbad.

Mohbad's untimely demise on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, prompted Bella Shmurda to make the announcement of the tour's cancellation via his official social media platform on Saturday.

He wrote: “Due to the recent sad event and unforeseen circumstances, I have had to cancel my Tour of Canada. New dates would be communicated.”

Months ago, Shmurda disclosed in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo that Mohbad had made a suicide attempt in response to threats he received after his departure from Naira Marley's Marlian Music label last year.

On Saturday morning, the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed that they are eagerly awaiting input from Bella Shmurda, who was a close friend of the late Mohbad. This information is expected to assist in their ongoing investigation.
