Cute Abiola, Enioluwa, Pocolee & others tackle Sabinus over his comment while frying plantain in the UK [Video]

Popular Nigerian comedian Sabinus found himself embroiled in a friendly dispute with a fellow comedian after making a humorous observation about his homeland while frying plantains in the United Kingdom.

On his verified Instagram page today, September 11th, 2023, Sabinus set off a wave of online reactions when he drew a comparison between Nigerian groundnut oil and its UK counterpart while frying plantains.

In a video posted to his Instagram, Sabinus playfully criticized Nigeria's groundnut oil, characterizing it as noisy and assertive, claiming that it produced a cacophony of "chaaaaain" sounds when plantains were introduced to it.

In contrast, Sabinus praised the tranquil sizzle of UK groundnut oil when used for frying plantains, humorously suggesting that Nigeria's groundnut oil might, in fact, be better suited for fuel rather than culinary purposes.

Captioning the video, Sabinus wrote; “New discovery o be like na fuel we de use o 😂🏃‍♀️🇬🇧.”

However, the video did not sit well with many as fellow celebrities like Cute Abiola, Enoluwa, Janemena, Pocolee and others tackled for spoiling the name out of the country.

Cute Abiola wrote: “😂😂😂 but trust me. Na that chaaaaain wey Nigeria own dey shout dey make the plantain soft 😂 . Taste this one wey no shout chaaaaaain . U go see say the plantain no go sweet like that .”

Enioluwa stated: “Plantain that did not make noise is that one plantain. That chaaaaaaa noise is the flavour, that’s what makes it sweet sef! Tahhhh!😂 sha Dey careful with the Knife!”

Pocolee commented: “na banana 🍌 u dey fry na why 😂😂😂.”

Janemena: “Stop spoiling our country online na, hide our shame please😩🥹🙏.”
