Jasmine Camacho-Quin from Puerto Rico finished as the runner-up, crossing the line in 12.38 seconds, while Kendra Harrison, representing the United States, claimed the third position.

Amusan's journey to this triumph started with her first Diamond League trophy in 2021, where she clocked an impressive time of 12.42 seconds. She successfully defended her title the following year with a remarkable time of 12.29 seconds in Zurich.

However, leading up to the 2023 World Athletics Championships, Amusan faced adversity when she was provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU). Allegedly, she had "missed three tests in 12 months." Her participation in the world championship was uncertain until she was cleared of the charge just three days before the competition.

Despite her challenges, Amusan's resilience shone through. Although she was unable to defend her world title in Budapest, finishing sixth in the final at the National Athletics Centre in Hungary, the 27-year-old athlete remains determined to overcome setbacks.

In a candid reflection on her time away from competition, Amusan acknowledged that her situation "could have been worse." She expressed her determination to return to the track "stronger and better," showcasing her unwavering commitment to excellence in the world of athletics.
