In a recent candid revelation, the beloved Nollywood actor, Bolanle Ninolowo, has shed light on the reasons behind his separation from his wife, Bunmi. In an exclusive interview with BBC Yoruba News, Ninolowo opened up about a relationship that had captured the imagination of many.
The shocking announcement of their split came on September 1st, 2023, when Bolanle Ninolowo took to his verified Instagram page to share the heartbreaking news. This marked the end of a 19-year journey together, although it wasn't the first time their marriage had encountered turbulence; the actor had previously confirmed their separation in 2017 after 12 years of togetherness.
In his revealing conversation with BBC, Bolanle Ninolowo recounted his journey, disclosing that he had returned to Nigeria after spending 15 years in the United States. Fate led him to cross paths with his future ex-wife, Bunmi, right on the streets where his mother resided.
At the time of their initial encounter, Bolanle was a 24-year-old young man, and Bunmi was 23. Within six months of their interactions, Bunmi became pregnant. Bolanle's mother, upon learning of the pregnancy, insisted that he marry Bunmi, emphasizing his responsibility as the father.
The heart-wrenching revelation from Bolanle Ninolowo indicates that, according to his perspective, his wife never held genuine affection for him. In his words; “I met her on the street where my mom lives and I was 24 years old while she is 23 years old and after 6 months of meetings together she got pregnant for me and my mom told me that it’s a must I married to her since I’m the one responsible for her pregnancy”.
Speaking further, Bolanle Ninolowo who shuffles his way between Nigerian and United States of America where his wife and children live said his wife never loved him but rather used him to better the life of her own family due to her selfish nature.
Bolanle Ninolowo who is now a top Nollywood actor after he returns to Nigeria utters that he works hard to better the life of his wife and children in USA but his wife gives him bad energy in return.
The actor who gifted his wife a house in November 2022 in the USA stated that his wife Bunmi never woke him up in the morning to pray for him talkless of standing up for him in any situation in life.
He further added that his now ex wife, Bunmi is only concerned with taking care of herself and bringing her family from Nigeria to the USA neglecting him and the family.
