2023 AFCON Qualifier: Super Eagles Prepare to Launch Camp for Showdown Against Sao Tome and Principe on Wednesday

In a recent update, the Super Eagles' training camp for the crucial 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe has seen a change in its opening date. Originally scheduled for today, Monday, the camp will now kick off on Wednesday in Uyo, as reported by our source.

Players who received invitations are expected to begin their arrivals in the country starting tonight. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) unveiled the list of 23 selected players last Sunday.

The highly-anticipated match is set to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday, September 10. While the Super Eagles have already secured their spot in the finals with 12 points from their previous five matches, they still aim to secure the top spot in the group. To achieve this, they must earn at least one point against Sao Tome and Principe. Guinea Bissau, currently in second place with 10 points, will also be in action against Sierra Leone in Bissau.

The 2023 AFCON finals will be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire, promising an exciting competition ahead.
