Super Falcon Allowances: Reps Committee fumes as Gasau, NFF President, shuns invitation

The ongoing ad hoc committee inquiry into the clash between the Super Falcons and Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) officials has once more called upon Ibrahim Gusau, the president of NFF.

Blessing Onuh, the committee's Chair, issued this new summons on Wednesday after Mr. Gusau declined the committee's initial invitation.

The committee's purpose is to investigate the matter of the Super Falcon team's allowances after their achievements at the World Cup in Australia.

Representing the NFF president, Mohammed Sanusi, the Secretary General of the NFF, explained that the president couldn't attend due to health issues. Nevertheless, the committee dismissed this representation.

Ms. Onuh accused Gusau of not taking the committee's work seriously.

“Nigerians are interested, Nigerians are watching. The girls did extremely well and they made Nigerians proud, so we shouldn’t take this investigative hearing lightly.

“We gave an opportunity for the president of NFF to appear before this Ad-hoc Committee. I will say invariably he is the one summoning us, he came up with an excuse that is not as important as what we have.”

She added that the NFF president had the “effrontery to send his SA that he won’t be able to make it. He is taking us for a ride and we will not tolerate it.”

The NFF Secretary General was then asked to go and the NFF President ordered to appear on Thursday.
