Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo Salami has shared the intricate details behind the creation of his latest cinematic offering, "Jagun Jagun."
In a recent interview, Femi revealed his distinctive approach to financing the project, explaining that he chose to utilize his personal assets rather than seeking funding from banks or external sources.
The actor disclosed that "Jagun Jagun" was a multi-billion naira endeavor; however, he opted to keep the exact investment amount under wraps.
Femi's commitment to steering clear of external financial backing led him to channel the earnings from his previous film, "Agbeshinkole," into the production of "Jagun Jagun." His conviction in the project's potential success drove him to leverage his properties to support the venture.
Additionally, Femi expressed his uncertainties about surpassing the achievements of "Jagun Jagun" with his next project. Despite initially believing he could surpass the triumph of his previous film, "King of Thieves," he admitted that his current endeavor has left him uncertain about replicating that level of accomplishment.
Femi delved into the creation of the warrior school depicted in the movie, detailing the challenges he and his team encountered while establishing the facility. They encountered obstacles during the land acquisition process, with a preliminary agreement being reversed by the landowners' children. Resuming construction required local authorities and law enforcement interventions, eventually allowing filming to proceed without obtaining ownership.
As for the inspiration behind "Jagun Jagun," Femi explained that the film's narrative draws from Nigeria's youth and environment. He aimed to convey a significant societal message to young audiences while seamlessly incorporating cultural elements into the storyline.
