American rapper and prominent media figure, Joe Budden, has bestowed the title of the "most significant global artist" upon Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian vocalist. While acknowledging Burna Boy's influence as a worldwide musical powerhouse, Joe Budden expressed his discontent with Burna Boy's action of appropriating the rights to the Jamaican artist Byron Messia's hit track 'Talibans,' following his participation in the song's remix.
Comparatively, Joe Budden drew attention to his strong opposition to a similar action taken by Kanye West a few years ago. He highlighted that even then, he vehemently disapproved of such conduct. Joe Budden conveyed these thoughts during a recent installment of his podcast, Joe Budden Network.
He said, “I’m never a fan of people transferring ownership of already existing songs to themselves after being featured in the remix.
“To the biggest artiste in the world [Burna Boy]. Yeah, I’m not a fan of when that happens. If you made the hit, go work it. If Burna Boy is on it, that should be yours now. But I don’t know the business he [Byron Messia] and Burna Boy did.
“I never remember that going right for somebody. Designer and Kenye [West], I was vehemently against it.”
