Well, you don't need a psychologist to tell you that Nigerians are crazy! They would exploit every situation until some form of mishap or unfortunate situation ensues. Recall the mad rush to break Guinness World Records after Hilda Baci's attempt? Yea, the attempts did not fizzle out before claiming its victims. We heard of the lady who collapsed while attempting the records, the one who did not apply officially, and the man who went temporarily blind for attempting the longest cry.
Well, it took the intervention of the record body to stop the mad rush when they announced that the attempts from Nigerians should cease at the moment.
Now, the news today is not about the Guinness World Record or Hilda Baci, but it's about a current trend. The current craze is the touting by some companies and Nigerians as a means of speaking alternative to the use of gasoline in their cars and generators.
It was noised everywhere, and videos trended like crazy about how to convert one's car or generator from being powered with Gasoline to cooking gas. All this was because the price of cooking gas dropped seriously while gasoline prices soar due to the subsidy removal.
However, in video trending on social media has it that a car converted to use gas burst out in flames. The video that is being shared aggressively on TikTok, Twitter, and other platforms captured the moment the car caught fire due to overheating of the gas canister on a busy highway. This has raised serious concerns about the safety of such conversions.
The video has ignited a heated debate on social media platforms regarding the risks associated with converting traditional fuel-powered vehicles to gas using a cylinder.
In the video, concerned onlookers can be seen attempting to douse the raging flames by pouring water under the vehicle, highlighting the severity of the situation. The video was captioned, “Don’t convert your car to gas with the cylinder at the back.”
However, it is totally clear if the story is true or not. Nollywood Times cannot ascertain if the car in question was converted to use gas or not. Because according to some users, the said car, if it has a gas cylinder at the back, would totally explode and not just burn.
