After several days of speculations about the transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen this summer, Italian Serie A champions Napoli has put their foot on the ground on his move.
Reports confirmed by club President Aurelio De Laurentiis stated that the club has secured an agreement for a new and improved contract for Osimhen.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said, “We’ve an agreement in principle with Victor Osimhen to extend his contract for two more years.”
That agreement has room for modifications, as revealed by businessman De Laurentiis, to allow the forward go if a huge bid arrives.
“In case an exorbitant bid impossible to reject arrives, we will see and make the best decision for the club,” Aurelio De Laurentiis added.
While the speculations strive, Victor Osimhen keeps lighting its embers, bagging a brace for the Nigeria National team in their 2-3 win over Sierra Leone.
In the just-concluded season, Osimhen scored 26 league goals to help Napoli win the Italian Serie A title for the first time in 33-years.
That has attracted interest from Paris Saint Germain and English trio Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle, who will have to cough-out at least 150 million euros to get Napoli talking about another transfer decision for Victor Osimhen.
