Revealed: What President Tinubu discussed with Dangote and Bill Gates during their meeting

 

President Tinubu received Alhaji Aliko Dangote and philanthropist, Mr. Bill Gates today in Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

During the meeting at the which held at the Presidential Villa on Monday, President Bola Tinubu emphasized the importance of prioritizing the health and safety of Nigerians. 

He acknowledged that a country's development is heavily reliant on the health of its people, particularly its workforce. The President expressed his appreciation for the dedication and bravery of Bill Gates in his efforts to improve the lives of people worldwide.

Additionally, he praised the partnership between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Aliko Dangote Foundation, recognizing their shared commitment to advancing healthcare in Nigeria.

The President pledged to ensure the success of his administration's work in Nigeria and Africa, specifically in eliminating diseases such as polio, measles, and malaria from the continent. However, he acknowledged the challenges posed by budgetary constraints and funding issues.

President Tinubu commended Bill Gates for his contributions to addressing climate change and eradicating polio and malaria in Africa. He urged the philanthropist to continue speaking out about the struggles faced by developing countries, emphasizing the need for greater awareness in the West, “You have all it takes to help developing nations more".

After his visit, Dangote spoke to the media and extended his congratulations to President Tinubu on his election and successful inauguration. The purpose of his visit to the villa was to update the President on the activities of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Aliko Dangote Foundation, emphasizing their dedication to enhancing the health sector in Nigeria. 

He also expressed the foundations' eagerness to collaborate further with the government to achieve its objectives. Dangote took the opportunity to praise the President for the elimination of fuel subsidies and expressed his confidence that more state funds would be allocated to critical areas such as education, health, and infrastructure.
