Davido shades Burna Boy, others, calls them ‘new cat’ but hails Wizkid [Video]

The superstar Afrobeat singer, Davido Adeleke, has lighted the fire in the industry as he speaks on how youngsters like he and Wizkid were one of the first to made it in the entertainment industry. He added that new cats like Burna Boy and others came second best to them.

While Davido referred to Burna Boy, and other renowned singers as ‘new cats’, in a recent interview applauded the recognition and growth of Afrobeats globally.

According to Davido, he and Wizkid were one of the first successful pioneers in the entertainment industry before the birth of the ‘new cats.’

He further acknowledged Mayorkun and Asake whom he reflected on their performance in his latest album, ‘Timeless‘ which has bagged a number of certifications from its millions of streams.

“Everybody knows that I was one of the first, me and Wizkid to blow up. It feels good also seeing that the news cats coming up; like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Rema, Asake, and Mayorkun,” he said.

The interview has since sparked mixed reactions particularly because Davido referred to other superstar singers as ‘new cats.’
