Why many were unhappy with my attempt to break cooking record – Chef Hilda Baci

It is true that when one is about to step out to achieve success, there are many around looking for the person to fail or intimidated by what the person is set out to achieve. This was made known by Popular chef Hilda Bassey Effiong, aka Hilda Baci.

Baci said in recent chat that some people were not happy with her attempt to break the longest cooking marathon by an individual because they felt she was “too blessed.”

After cooking 100 hours non-stop breaking the former record holder, India’s Lata Tandon’s 87 hours and 45 minutes record, Hilda is still waiting to be certified. The reason being that Guinness World Record is currently reviewing her record breaking attempt.

But speaking as a guest on the latest episode of the I Said What I Said Podcast, Hilda said many were unhappy with the attempt because they were intimidated by her beauty, skills and charisma.

She said, “There were a lot of ‘It’s not fairs’, like, ‘how can only her be fine, be hot, ah ah. How can only her have all these things? That’s not how life is.”

On the speculations that she paid for publicity, she said, “The PR that we invested in, how much, how many was it? The kind of earned media that the attempt got, you can not pay for it. You can’t plan for it, you can’t pay it. It’s grace. You can only hope.”
