U-17 AFCON: Golden Eaglets crashed out of AFCON and fails to qualify for World Cup courtesy Burkina Faso

The clash between the Golden Eaglets and Burkina Faso ended disappointingly as the Nigerian side fell 2-1. With the loss, they did not progress to the Semi-Final. The Eaglet did not just crash out of the AFCON; they also failed to qualify for the World Cup.

The Junior Stallions went two goals up, thanks to a brace from Aboubacar Camara.

Abubakar Abdullahi pulled one back for the Golden Eaglets midway through the second half, but it ended up being a mere consolation.

This result means Nigeria will not represent the continent at the U-17 World Cup later this year.

However, the Burkina Babes will be one of the four teams to fly Africa’s flag.

The other teams are Senegal, Mali and Morocco.
