Guinness World Records have clarified why they are yet to confirm Hilda Baci’s new record for long cooking hours. Baci broke the record on Monday morning in Lagos, Nigeria.
At the time of this report, the chef had already cooked for over 97 hours.
The old record stood at 87 hours, 45 minutes.

Nigerians then took to social media to call for Guinness World Records to ratify Baci’s new time.
But a tweet from their official Twitter handle read: “We’re aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record.”
