Dangote refinery project, a dream come true

The Dangote Refinery project is a massive oil refinery being built by the Dangote Group in Nigeria. The refinery is expected to be the largest in Africa and one of the largest in the world, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. The project is estimated to cost around $19 billion and is expected to create thousands of jobs in Nigeria.

The refinery will produce a range of refined petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). It will also produce petrochemicals such as polypropylene and polyethylene.

The project is being built on a 6,180-acre site in the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Lagos State, Nigeria. The refinery will be powered by a 550MW power plant, which is being built alongside the refinery.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on May 22, 2023 commission the Dangote refinery.

The Dangote Refinery project is expected to significantly reduce Nigeria's dependence on imported petroleum products and boost the country's economy. The project is also expected to create a significant number of jobs and provide training opportunities for thousands of local workers.
