What could be described as a scene from a Nollywood movie played out is a video currently trending on social media. In the video, an Italian lady, Domenica, reunited with her Nigerian mum after 34 years of separation. The video caused a serious emotional moment for many users on social media.
It looks like the lady has been on a search for her long-lost mother. The search was successful, and she was accompanied to Nigeria by an Italian man who served as an interpreter to help reunite with her mum.
The Italian woman's mum was uncertain that the lady was her child until she demanded to look at her back as she remembered that her long-lost daughter sustained an injury on her back when she was a little girl. She broke down in excitement when she found the mark on the lady's back.
"Jesus!!!'' the excited mum shouted as she wept and hugged her child.
When asked what happened that led to their separation, the excited mum said in 1984, her own mother, who lived in Italy, asked her to send down her baby to live with her in Italy because she was quite lonely in the European country; she said her mum sent her some documents to help facilitate her daughter, Domenica Kofoworola's, relocation.
She said her mum later contacted her that she is ill and that Domenica had been taken away from her. She said her mum told her that she would only be able to see Dominica after she had turned 18. The mum said she even visited the Italian embassy to see if they could help locate her daughter in Italy, but it was an exercise in futility. She mentioned that she even attempted to travel to Italy but was denied a visa.
The video showed the Italian lady meeting with her other siblings, who hugged her and warmly welcomed her. Dominica was initially shocked and afraid, but after the reassurance from the Italian man, she hugged, and the whole family burst into a praise and worship session.
