Cristiano Ronaldo’s new club have to call off their proposed match Thursday after rain forced the stadium to close amid electricity concerns.
Ronaldo’s debut seems to suffer another setback as fans waiting to see him in Saudi Arabia will have to wait even longer after Al Nassr’s league match was called off after rain hit Riyadh.
Al Nassr had sold out tickets at the 25,000-capacity Mrsool Park stadium, but they were forced to lock the gates and turn fans and staff away just hours before kick-off.
Heavy rain has hit Riyadh this week, and due to safety concerns at the stadium, the match will not go ahead.
All these are coming on the backdrop of the ban or stiffer punishment hanging over the Portuguese star’s head if he plays the match.
