Rema has become a name on everyone’s lips since last year; the singer has been in the spotlight ever since. Today Rema’s music video for Rema’s hit single ‘Calm Down’ surpasses CKay‘s ‘Love Nwantiti’ to become the most-viewed Afrobeats video on YouTube.
Recall that the music video was released in Feb 2022 as part of Rema’s debut album “Raves & Roses,” rose quickly; today, it has gained worldwide success, particularly after featuring Selena Gomez on the remix.
The video reached 100 million views in under 3 months, making it the fastest Afrobeats single to achieve this milestone. Selena Gomez’s remix also boosted its popularity, reaching No. 8 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The video’s latest accomplishment is being named the most-watched Nigerian music video on YouTube, as confirmed by music chart publication TurnTable Charts on Jan 29, 2023. The video has 354,751,268 views and 3.2 million likes.
However, this morning, the views have risen to 356,436,168 and still 3.2 million likes.
