Fake News: Sowore clears air on Wole Soyinka’s death rumours

The rumours making the rounds on Twitter on Friday have it that Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka is dead. The news led to confusion, with Tweeps wanting to know how true the story was. Though the tweet that broke the news has since been deleted because it bore false message. 

However, to help clear the air on the news, which now has been confirmed to be fake news, is the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore, however, debunked reports and said the playwright is alive and kicking, adding that Nigerians should ignore the rumour.

He wrote: “Nothing wrong with Prof. Wole Soyinka; he is alive and kicking. Kindly ignore rumours of his death!”
