News from Manchester United has it that they are letting Portuguese international forward, Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club by mutual agreement with immediate effect. The club, however, expressed their gratitude to Cristiano for his contribution during the two spells, which saw him score 145 goals in 346 appearances.

The club disclosed this information on Tuesday with a statement via its official website.

The statement read in part, “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.

“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”

Following the news, Cristiano Ronaldo wished Manchester United well as he takes his leave from the club. He feels like it is the right time to seek a new challenge.

In a post on its verified Instagram page, Premier League quoted Ronaldo to have said, “I love Manchester Utd, and I love the fans, that will never change. It feels like the right time to seek a new challenge. I wish Manchester Utd all the best,” with the league calling it ‘@cristiano’s farewell message to @manchesterunited.’
