On Tuesday, during the National Honours Award Investiture ceremony, Nigerian musician, Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, gets people talking over her ‘disrespectful’ attitude towards President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari conferred national honours of different categories on 447 Nigerians and foreigners at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja.
Teni was among those honoured, however after receiving the plaque for the award of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) from the President, she walked away without paying any obeisance in a manner presumed by some Nigerians as rude.
A former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, while reacting to Teni’s action, said whoever disrespects the office of the President is an illegitimate and ungrateful Nigerian.
Teni’s action has been greeted with reactions on social media as Nigerians are divided in supporting and opposing the entertainer.
