Nigeria U-17 Women, Flamingos, are set for today’s game against the USA-17 in the quarterfinal of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
After a disappointing 2-1 defeat in their first game, Flamingos bounced back to crush New Zealand 4-0 and Chile 2-1 in their second and third Group B games to book in place in the last eight.
The USA U-17 booked a place in the last eight after picking up 7 points in Group A same points as Brazil, but with a superior goal difference.
USA destroyed hosts India U-17, 8-0 in their first Group A game, played a 1-1 draw against Brazil in their second game, and defeated Morocco 4-0 in the last group game.
Nigeria will be looking forward to progressing over the US team today. This encounter will make it the first time Nigeria will be facing the US in the U-17 women’s World Cup.
