The presidential flagbearer of the APC to next year’s election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declared that he is a few months older than the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Bishop Mathew Kukah.
Tinubu declared this yesterday at the clergyman’s 70th birthday celebration.
He commended the Sokoto bishop for his good works, stressing that he understood what the clergyman was building.
Tinubu said he and the clergyman have a bigger responsibility to build Nigeria.
Tinubu said: “You are building an institution in the honour of your 70, I am 70 too I could still contribute. I am just months older than you are.
“But Bishop, you will help build Nigeria. The greatness of a nation is on your shoulder. It’s on my shoulder, too, and we must build it together.
“I must, and I will contribute handsomely and personally to build and see to the completion of that institution.”
The age of the APC presidential candidate has been the subject of controversy over the years, and he is being dragged for falsification. Some Nigerians believe he is well above 80 years, while Tinubu insists that he is 70.
