After a match in April against Everton that Manchester United lost, Cristiano Ronaldo slapped a mobile phone out of the hand of a teenage fan. However, the conduct did not go down well with the Football Association as they charged the Portuguese international and United star with improper conduct.

According to FA Rule E3 rule relating to improper and/or violent conduct, Ronaldo has been charged with a breach of it following the incident.

“Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 for an incident that
took place after Manchester United FC’s Premier League match against Everton FC on Saturday 9 April 2022.

“It is alleged that the forward’s conduct after the final whistle was improper and/or violent,” the FA said in a statement on Friday.

Manchester United has reacted to the FA’s statement, saying, “We note the FA announcement in relation to Cristiano Ronaldo. “We will be supporting the player in response to the charge.”

Ronaldo is away with Portugal as they prepare for UEFA Nations League games against the Czech Republic on Saturday and Spain on Tuesday.

United’s next Premier League outing is the Manchester derby, which takes place at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, October 2.
