It came as a shock when news reached us that Late Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, popularly known as Dagrin, was declared wanted in Sierra Leone.
This shocking news is coming twelve years after the unfortunate death of the Nigerian music icon. The super talented icon, Dagrin, lost his life in a car crash 12 years ago at the peak of his music career.
His car had a head-on collision with a stationary heavy-duty vehicle right in front of Alakara Police Station, off Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos.
On Thursday, April 22, 2010, Dagrin died at precisely 6 pm at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH. He was 26 at the time of his death and was buried on Friday, April 30, 2010, at the Ebony Millennium Private Vault, Atan Cemetery.
Shockingly indeed, the police in Sierra Leone have declared the late Nigerian singer and some other young boys wanted for participating in a violent protest last week.
The police released pictures of the criminals wanted for the violent protest, and Darin’s photo was among the suspects on the wanted list of the authorities in Sierra Leone. His shirtless picture with a gun hung about his neck was among the images released.

The late Dagrin hailed from Ogun State and left a significant mark in the Nigerian music industry with his unique style of rap and music. He indeed is a talent and quite difficult to forget.
For the records, the authorities in Sierra Leone should double check whose picture they display on the wanted list because Dagrin is dead and buried 12 years ago.
