Manchester United is looking forward to having Cristiano Ronaldo stay at the club to be part of Erik ten Hag’s revolution.

The news of CR7 leaving United has been all over the place all summer. Many had said he wanted to go last season after the club finished fifth last season without so much of a trophy and missed out on the Champions League qualification.

The countdown is on now, and the transfer deadline will strike by 11 pm on Thursday. Time is fleeting fast for Ronaldo to find a new club and makes many fans wonder if he is staying at United.

Moreover, CR7’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been searching for a new club all summer – without much success because United has not received any serious offers for the 37-year-old.

This must come as a rude awakening for Ronaldo as he isn’t familiar with the feeling of being snubbed.

According to Neil Custis of The Sun, United’s hierarchy is hoping Ronaldo can see the ambition at United to get back to the top, with figures at the club believing he could make a dramatic U-turn.

The mood has reportedly changed following United’s spending spree in the summer transfer market.

On Tuesday, United announced their fifth signing after agreeing on a deal with Ajax for Antony.

Ronaldo staying is good – only if he behaves.

At 37, Ronaldo has to learn to take up a new role in the squad. This summer, he got the memo that many Champions League teams are unwilling to disrupt their play pattern for him at 37.

However, all is not lost for him; he can be a joker card - brilliant plan B to give United the cutting edge required to finish in the top four; the only challenge is that he would not be starting every week under Ten Hag.
