‘Calm Down’ remix: Selena Gomez Vs. Rema a powerful combination

The much talk about American singer Selena Gomez and Rema’s remix of the hit single ‘Calm Down’ was released this week after much anticipation. 

On Friday, 26th August 2022, the remix was released with the voices of Afrobeat superstar Divine Ikubor also known as Rema, and American pop star Selena Gomez doing justice to the song video will be out soon. Andre Vibez produced the song.

During the week, the duo teased the incoming remix on social media, with Selena dropping a clip that showed herself hanging out with Rema.

Both singers did justice to the song, and Selena complimented Rema’s vibe with her melodic tune. They blended perfectly while maintaining the same energy as the original song when it was first released.

She sings,

“Yeah, I know I look shy but for you I get down, oh, woah

And my hips make you cry when I’m moving around you (Yeah)

Do it once, do it twice (Do it twice)

I push back, you hold me tight

Get a taste for a night”

It was a perfect harmony as Selena matched Rema’s delivery of the similar up-beat chorus to Calm Down.

“Baby show me you can calm down, calm down

Dance with me and take the lead now, lead now

Got you so high that you can’t come down, come down”

The goal of Rema to have the remix with Selena was to acquire international success. Selena Gomez’s status will be expected to get the numbers that will project Rema onto the international charts.

When it was first released, “Calm Down” became an instant hit, racing swiftly to 100 million views on YouTube in less than three months. The single came out as one of the songs ahead of his debut album, ‘Raves & Roses.’ The song, however, emerged as the most successful single off the album.
