2023 Presidential Election: IPOB disowns Peter Obi

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, kicked against the presidential candidacy of the Labour Party presidential flagbearer, Mr. Peter Obi.

IPOB clearly declared its lack of interest in an Igbo President or a Nigerian President of Southeast extraction, hence they do now consider Obi as the man for the coveted seat.

The group declared that its members are not Obi support group members because Obi does not support their agenda, adding that they favour the disintegration of Nigeria.

The IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, stated that Nigeria was irredeemable in a recent statement.

The statement reads: “The Igbo people rallying behind Peter Obi are not IPOB members because IPOB’s goal is the disintegration of the Nigerian enterprise irrespective of whether Peter Obi or anyone else from the Biafran geographic space is contesting in the Nigerian farce of an election.

“IPOB is a freedom fighting movement and has nothing whatsoever to do with or in Nigerian politics. So long as we in IPOB are concerned, Nigeria is irredeemable.”

In conclusion, IPOB called for the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and a referendum in the Southeast.
