Veteran actress Ada Ameh who played the role of Emu in the Africa Magic family, is dead.

She was reported to have died on Sunday night, and the story has been confirmed by Emeka Rollas, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, via telephone as reported by our source, the PUNCH.

Rollas said:

“We lost Ada. No details at the moment, but we’ve lost Ada.”

Although details about her death, unconfirmed reports making the rounds on social media have it that Ada died on Sunday night at a Delta State hospital.

She was said to have collapsed and died in Warri, Delta State, at about 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Sources said she was a guest to an oil company worker and his family in the Delta metropolis when she passed.

According to reports available, she was said to have died on the way to the nearby NNPC hospital after she collapsed.

A video availble on Twitter also showed her enjoying a meal from the family she visited hours before her death:

The hospital is yet to publicize the autopsy report of the likely cause or causes of her sudden death.

Recall that she opened up about her mental health challenges a few weeks ago.

“Everything is going to be fine. I have an issue right now, and it’s taking my life. I will not die. We will get over it,” Ameh had said.

The actress explained that she was given a job but could not carry it out because she was undergoing mental issues.

According to Adah, she got pregnant at 13 and gave birth to Aladi Godgift, who died in October 2020 at an age above 30. She was said to have died after surgery in Abuja.

Last year the 48-year-old veteran actress visited her daughter’s grave site on her one-year remembrance. In addition, she celebrated her posthumous birthday on the late girl’s birth date.
