New Product: 9mobile launches 9TV in Lagos

9mobile aims to provide Nigerians with quality and stress-relieving entertainment; the telecommunication giant has launched its innovative online entertainment platform, 9TV.

9TV is a one-stop entertainment hub that gives 9mobile subscribers the ability to watch their favourite movies, TV shows, children’s entertainment, and live events on the go. The subscribers can have pre-paid and hybrid subscriptions plan.

9TV is accessible on Android and web platforms (www.9tv.com.ng). 9TV offers free-to-air local and international channels, video-on-demand, reality shows, and live events streaming at affordable rates and on various smart devices.

The app was launched Unveiling on Wednesday at 9mobile’s headquarters in Lagos. The company explained that 9TV is a unique platform to give subscribers refreshing content on various smart devices and help them keep abreast of happenings on smartphones and tablets.

“We are happy to be introducing this new entertainment platform for the delight of our subscribers. 9TV will offer unlimited relaxation with quality entertainment content at prices that they can afford,” the Director of Product Innovation and Business Development, 9mobile, Kenechukwu Okonkwo, said.

9TV offerings

Okonkwo said 9TV would be offering movies in different categories. Such categories as new releases, most-watched, blockbusters, children, and other genres. The app is subscription-based, and they promise subscribers will get ultimate value for their money.

Subscription

The 9TV app’s subscriptions will range from N50 to N2,500 based on subscribers’ choice.

Okonkwo gave a load down of other features of the new app. He said the app comes with all the principal features and services a media and entertainment app comes with. The features include:

Timeshift feature 

You can watch Live TV on 9TV, and not just that, you will have access to pause, rewind, and forward functionalities. These functionalities give you control over what you watch.

Catch-Up features

The Catch-Up feature will allow users to watch programmes even after the broadcast, or if users missed a live broadcast, they could go back to view it on demand.

Watch & Download

With 9TV, you can watch and download your favourite movies. After downloads, you can go back and watch the movies after downloading under ‘my downloads’ on the app. You can watch available movies whenever you want, even with ‘No Network Coverage’ or when the device is on ‘Airplane Mode.’

Liv.9ja

Liv.9ja is an on-demand live entertainment; the streaming section allows users to watch live concerts, interviews, parties, and similar events.

First, download the 9TV app or visit the web platform on your phone or tablet. Then sign up, and you are there.

• Multiple accounts cannot be created as an account is automatically created for subscribers using provided mobile number.
• If your data bundle is exhausted, its switches to the existing 9mobile data bundle, or you may need to purchase any 9mobile data plan of your choice.
• A sim swap, or mobile device change, does not affect your subscription.
