Sheriff Oborevwori was disqualified on Thursday by a federal high court in Abuja over discrepancies in his certificates. Oborevwori is the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) in Delta State.
According to Justice Taiwo Taiwo's ruling, Oborevwori, the state house of assembly speaker, was not qualified to contest.
David Edevbie was the one that filed the suit to lead to the disqualification of Oborevwori. The former commissioner for finance was selected by the former governor James Ibori against Oborevwori.
However, Oborevwori was chosen by Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the state governor and vice presidential candidate of the PDP.
