The late female Nigeria’s first fighter pilot has been laid to rest in Abuja, amidst tributes.

Tolulope Oluwatoyin Sarah Arotile was the first-ever female Nigerian Air Force combat helicopter pilot, she contributed significantly to combat operations against insecurity in the northern states of Nigeria.

She was killed recently by a car driven by an ex-classmate in Kaduna and died following a head injury she sustained.

Air Marshal Abubakar Sadique, the Chief of Air Staff;  Mr.Yahaya Bello, Kogi State Governor and his wife; the House Committee Chairman on Air Force, Bala Ib’n Nalla and members of the deceased family were all present at the burial.

It should be recorded that Arotile was the first female combat helicopter pilot of NAF, before her death.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
